Adding a Sandbox

There are two kinds of Sandboxes:

  • Shared Sandboxes, such as the Reviewer Sandbox are indented to be shared. These are published, but have specific Sandbox settings. They are hidden from the public, but visible to authors, editors and administrators.

  • Personal Sandboxes, such as Patrick’s Sandbox. These should be kept in draft status to hide them from the public. They don’t show up when authors, editors or administrators ask for the list of Sandboxes.

Shared Sandboxes

To make a new Shared Sandbox post, duplicate or clone the Sandbox Template or an existing Sandbox close to the new one you want to make.
You might have to temporarily activate the plugin Duplicate Page by mndpsingh287.

Categories

The following categories are specifically for sandboxes:

  • CAT-Sandbox: Check
  • CAT-SBX1, SBX2, SBX3 and SBX4: Check according to the minimum level of the sandbox. E.g. a sandbox for level 3 (editor) and 4 (administrator) will have CAT-SBX3 checked.

Also check the following:

  • CAT-debug: check only for CAT-SBX4 (Administrator)
  • CAT-hide-in-related
  • CAT-hide-in-reviewers review list, unless it is a CAT-SBX1, intended for reviewers.
