Adding a Navigation Page

To add a new Navigation Page, duplicate the one most similar to what you want.


Simple Navigation Page

  • Shows all the posts in a specific Topic, e.g. People.
  • Not shown in the “Related Sections”
  • Usually accessible through the Topics menu.

Categories

  • CAT-navigation: check
  • CAT-hide-in-related: check
  • CAT-Hide-in-reviewers review list: check
  • Uncategorized: check

Topics and Featured

Do not check any Topics or Featured. However, make sure the appropriate topic is selected in “Related topic” in the “Related posts Section

Search Exclude

Normally a navigation page is included in the search. However, you can hide it if you prefer.

Slug

The slug can be something like navigation-buildings but doesn’t have to. Churches is perfectly OK.

Excerpt, featured image, content,…

Update the excerpt and upload a featured image. You can also add any content blocks you want.

Hierarchical Navigation Page

  • Used to create a hierarchical navigation by making a link between two topics (see illustration below):
    E.g. Navigation page show all the Shaker Recipes and appears itself whit the topics Shakers and Recipes
  • It is usually shown in the “Related Sections” of the parent topic:
    E.g. In this case it would be shown in the Related topics Shakers and Recipes.
  • Usually not accessible through the Topics menu, but accessible when listing all topics.

Categories

  • CAT-navigation: check
  • CAT-hide-in-related: uncheck
  • CAT-Hide-in-reviewers review list: check
  • Uncategorized: check

Topics and Featured

xxs-navigation

Is a generic navigation page used when clicking on a topic link in the Related Section.

That generic page will look for a specific navigation page. If it finds it, it will clone the content. If there is no specific page, it will display all the posts with the given topic.
