Interesting and informative video on the Shakers. The high school I attended in upstate NY was actually called Shaker High School!
I grew up in that area, in a town near Watervliet and it is pronounced Water-vleet, not Water-vlee-eht, just FYI.
Lots of businesses with the word Shaker throughout that area too. There was even a pond nearby called Ann Lee pond and a nursing home named after her as well.
