On September 25, 12-4PM we celebrated the unique history of the Harvard Common and the people, places and events that help tell The Story of Harvard's Identity.

Events scheduled for the day include (last updated 8/22/2021):

  • A Common history presentation by Carlene Phillips, author of the book "A Common History" (Will be on sale that day!)
  • Living history characters – Join Dr. Herbert Royal, painter Luke Pollard, restauranter Rachel McTighe, and philanthropist Emily Hildreth as they reminisce about their experiences and contributions living around the Harvard Common.
  • A children’s scavenger hunt – Follow the clues and discover some of the hidden history surrounding the Common. First 30 participants receive a prize!
  • Det. Danielle and Dusty the Assistance Dog from the Harvard Police Dept – Visit with Harvard’s very own police assistance dog!
  • Photo opportunity in the Town Stocks – Get the photo of a lifetime as Mom, Dad and the whole family get “locked up” for their crimes! Whether it’s “Crimes Against Fashion”, “Failure to Observe Silence”, or “Parental Disobedience”, we’ll have a crime to fit every alleged lawbreaker!
  • Wekepeke 4-H - Club members will be present with some of their goats for people to socialize with. Additionally, the club members will have a variety of fiber arts that they will be demonstrating, such as carding, spinning, weaving, felting, and knitting.
